As a collaborative member of the project team you will create and coordinate 2D drawing sets and 3D Building Information Models for complex residential projects for permitting, fabrication, and construction using knowledge of the construction and manufacturing processes and applicable building codes. You will research, analyze, and advise on detailed specifications, construction techniques, industry/local standards, materials, and processes; assist in Detail Library development; and coordinate and maintain lasting relationships with clients, manufacturers, consultants, builders, vendors, assemblers, client lenders, and local regulatory officials. All along, you will challenge the status quo and act as a change agent for continuous improvement in Turkel Design’s collaborative studio culture.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Revit (minimum 4,000 hours), AutoCAD, Word, Bluebeam, and Excel, with basic working knowledge of SketchUp
- Knowledge of Revit components and how to build custom families
- Understanding of how to create view templates and an eye for graphic standards
- Proficiency in creating specifications, design development drawings, construction documents, and shop drawings (minimum 3 years’ experience)
- Proficiency in residential wood-frame construction methods
- Proficiency in coordinating consultants and vendors
- Professional or technical degree in architecture, architectural technology, or equivalent
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment or construction industry is preferred
You will
- Prepare and review architectural drawings using Revit in a timely fashion, while coordinating design, specifications, and local requirements with staff, consultants, and regulatory officials
- Interpret 3D schematic design SketchUp models and convert them into detailed Revit models to develop DD sets, permit drawings, and CDs
- Work with project team to develop architectural and technical solutions; draft and catalogue details within Revit template
- Review shop drawings and elaborated framing models to ensure coordination with architectural and consultant drawings
- Participate in a collaborative studio culture
